Arsenal defender Sokratis Papasthathopoulos is confident that the Gunners will secure a top-four finish at the end of the current Premier League campaign.

Greek international Sokratis talked about the Gunners’ desire to finish in the top four places while he was giving his post-match thoughts via Goal after the 1-1 North London Derby (NLD) draw with Tottenham Hotspur.

Sokratis Papasthathopoulos also revealed that team spirit was key to the good result cum performance against Spurs in their Premier League clash at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Arsenal took a first-half lead through midfielder Aaron Ramsey off an assist from Alexandre Lacazette.

Welsh international Ramsey scored the lone goal for the Gunners on his final game in the North London Derby.

The 28-year-old is expected to join Italian champions Juventus on a free transfer this summer.

Ramsey’s first-half goal in the North London Derby was cancelled out by the 74th-minute penalty from Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane after he was fouled by Arsenal defender Shkrodan Mustafi.

Arsenal had a very good chance to earn the maximum points at stake but substitute Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was denied from the penalty spot by Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

Arsenal have dropped out of the top four as a result of the draw with the Gunners one point off fourth-placed Manchester United with nine league games left to play.
