Crystal Palace are reportedly eyeing a swoop for highly-rated Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland ahead of this summer’s transfer window.
According to the publication from South London Press, Crystal Palace are targeting the England international as a possible replacement for Vicente Guaita who could go back to Spain after just one season at Selhurst Park.
Guaita joined the Eagles last summer on a free transfer from Spanish La Liga club Getafe.
Several Spanish sides are said to be interested in a move for Vicente Guaita and the Argentine shot-stopper could leave the club when the transfer window reopens this summer.
Jack Butland has been repeatedly linked with a move to Arsenal and the Gunners might need to battle London rivals Palace for his signature.
The 25-year-old was tipped to leave Stoke City last summer after the Potters suffered relegation from the Premier League but the English goalkeeper stayed to help the club back to the top flight.
He was one of the Potters’ best players during their disappointing league campaign last year.
Arsenal are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper following the news that second choice goalie Petr Cech will hang up his gloves at the end of this season and Jack Butland could be their man for the position.
