Premier League giants Manchester United have been handed a major boost following the news that Paris Saint Germain (PSG) striker Edinson Cavani will miss their Champions League on Tuesday night.
Manchester United travel to Parc des Princes to take on French champions PSG in the second leg of their last 16 tie but the Red Devils don’t have to worry about the threat of the usually lethal Cavani.
The Uruguayan international is just recovering from a hip injury according to PSG manager Thomas Tuchel.
The German tactician spoke about Cavani during his pre-match press conference on Friday ahead of their French Ligue 1 clash at Caen on Saturday.
Ex-Borussia Dortmund manager Tuchel revealed that Cavani is back in training but the Manchester United game would be too soon for him to make his return in that game.
When asked about Neymar, Thomas Tuchel said that he has no update on the Brazilian star who has been injured since January.
It remains to be seen whether Neymar will make a comeback from his foot injury in time for the Champions League quarterfinals if PSG progress to that stage at the expense of Manchester United.
They have a 2-0 lead from the first leg at Old Trafford ahead of the game in Paris.
