Following the drama at the weekend, Chelsea first choice goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga was dropped in the Blues game against Tottenham which ended in a win for the Stamford Bridge team.
Kepa Arrizabalaga seems to be punished for his public show of disrespect for manager Maurizio Sarri after he refused to be substituted in the Carabao Cup finals against Man City at the weekend.
There were calls for the Italian manager to take his stand and prove he is in charge of the team and the dressing room which he has done with the London derby game which ended in a 2-0 win, in favour of the Blues.
Just after the win, manager Maurizio Sarri was made to answer some questions by the press on who will be the first choice after the Tottenham decision. He was quick to say Kepa Arrizabalaga remains his No 1 as he hints that the stopper could return to action in the next game.
Maurizio Sarri noted that Kepa Arrizabalaga made a big mistake and had to pay with the team after he paid with the club as a punishment.
The manager, therefore, stated that Kepa Arrizabalaga will return back to the team at the weekend because he wants the discussion closed.
