Former Liverpool defender and football pundit Steve Nicol has stated that manager Jurgen Klopp would not be sacked by the club unless the current fortunes begin to go down.

According to him, the job of the German manager is not under any threat because of his current performance with the team

Jurgen Klopp joined the Anfield from German Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund some three years ago and has since reached three finals despite not winning anything to prove that the club can compete again.

It would be recalled that the Jurgen Klopp-led team finished last season in second place on the Premier League table and also reached the finals of the UEFA Champions League but were defeated by Spanish La Liga outfit Real Madrid.

The hope is yet to run down for this season as the fight is still on with the Merseyside team on top of the summit with a point clear ahead of Man City.

Should he not win the league this season, Steve Nicol says the manager would not be sacked because the club is up there and still stands a better chance in the coming years.

However, Steve Nicol stated that all of these would not be said of the manager’s fate at the club as soon as the performances begin to decline.
