Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has named the best player at the club this season and it’s not his buddy Paul Pogba who has enjoyed a renaissance of some sort since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer became the interim manager at Old Trafford.

In his recent interview monitored by Goal, Lukaku surprisingly said that left-back Luke Shaw has been the Red Devils’ best player this season ahead of more celebrated players like Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

The Belgian international star paid tribute to the Manchester United defence in general as he praised their solidity in recent games.

Three-time European champions Manchester United have kept four clean sheets in the last five games in all competitions following the goalless draw with title contenders Liverpool on Sunday.

Since Solskjaer became the manager two months ago, Manchester United have conceded just nine goals in the 14 games played under his management with the team netting 30 goals in that same period.

He has helped the team to 11 victories, two draws and one solitary loss which came in the Champions League.

Manchester United were beaten 2-0 by French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) at Old Trafford in what was the first leg of their last 16 clashes.
