Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that Arsenal loanee David Ospina will sign for the club permanently at the end of the season.
As quoted by Italian media portal Tuttosport, Carlo Ancelotti said that Colombian international shot stopper Ospina will sign for Napoli in the summer regardless of the number of games played for the Italian Serie A club this season.
Italian tactician Ancelotti was speaking after his Napoli suffered a big blow to their title hopes with a goalless draw at home to Torino on Sunday evening.
David Ospina had earlier revealed that he’s unsure about his future at the club in a chat with Blu Radio on Saturday.
The 29-year-old disclosed that there’s a clause in his Napoli contract which stipulated that a permanent transfer can only be made if he plays a certain number of games.
Napoli will pay €4m to secure his transfer from Arsenal this summer.
Ospina joined Napoli from the Gunners on loan at the start of the season with the option of converting the loan spell into a permanent one.
The Colombian goalkeeper had to leave Arsenal last year after the Gunners’ signed Bernd Leno from German Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen thereby pushing him to third position in the pecking order of Arsenal shot stoppers.
