Why Liverpool fans have reasons to celebrate ahead of Bayern Munich

The fears that the English Premier League outfit Liverpool would be dumped out of the UEFA Champions League so easily have been eased with the report coming from the Anfield.

The Reds will face German Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich next week in the round of 16 but with a difficult situation as the progress of the team is being threatened by injuries.

So far this season, the Merseyside outfit have suffered injury crisis with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Joe Gomez all struggling to be feet as a result of their various knocks.

More to the worries by the Merseyside club is the fact that the solid defending of Virgil Van Dijk would be missed in the first leg as he is being suspended for the game.

However, there is relieve with reports by Daily Mirror that Dejan Lovren who was also injured would be available for the game while midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, who sat out training after an illness has been confirmed to be available before the game.

While manager Jurgen Klopp will miss the solid partnership of Joe Gomez and Virgil Van Dijk, there are hopes that the available players can stand in for the first half of the game.
