Former European champions Manchester United are said to be plotting a club-record deal ahead of the resumption of the transfer window in the summer.
This is according to the report from Daily Record which revealed that the Red Devils have already drawn up a three-man transfer shortlist in the quest to make a club-record transfer this summer.
The three names on the shortlist include Paris Saint Germain (PSG) superstar Neymar, Juventus forward Paulo Dybala and Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale.
Brazilian international star Neymar is the Red Devils’ top priority according to the above mentioned publication though it remains to be seen whether French capital club PSG will want to sanction a transfer for the ex-Santos forward.
Neymar became the world’s most expensive player when PSG paid £200m (€222m) to sign him from Barcelona in 2017.
The 27-year-old has been linked with a summer return to Barcelona as well as arch-rivals Real Madrid.
Manchester United will definitely need to come up with a world record transfer fee to have a chance of signing the Brazilian superstar.
He’s presently injured after sustaining a foot injury in a recent Cup game with Strasbourg.
Neymar was absent as his PSG side took a major step towards the quarterfinals with a 2-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford in what was the first leg of their last 16 clashes.
