North London giants Arsenal have already started shopping for a replacement for German playmaker Mesut Ozil despite the fact that the 2014 FIFA World Cup winner is still on the payroll at the Emirates Stadium.
Sportskeeda claim that the Gunners are targeting Ajax Amsterdam star Hakim Ziyech as a direct replacement for Mesut Ozil who has endured a frustrating season for Arsenal since the start of this campaign.
Ozil has not been able to convince Arsenal manager Unai Emery that he can thrive under him at the club.
The former Werder Bremen and Schalke 04 player has provided just one assist in 14 league games this season.
Mesut Ozil has been dropped for many games this season despite the fact that he’s the highest paid player at Arsenal.
He earns £350,000 on a weekly basis after signing a three-year contract in February 2018.
Moroccan international player Hakim Ziyech could be the player to replace Ozil at Arsenal.
The 25-year-old has been in very good form for his Ajax Amsterdam side this term.
He has scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists in 18 games in the Dutch Eredivisie.
Hakim Ziyech was also on target for Ajax in their 2-1 loss to holders Real Madrid in the first leg of their last 16 ties.
