Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has given an update on the contract situation of one of his best players.

Spurs midfielder Christian Eriksen is yet to commit his long-term future to the North London club and that has fuelled transfer talks that he could leave North London in the summer.

The Danish international playmaker is not short of suitors with European champions Real Madrid and Manchester United keen to sign him in the summer.

He has 18 months left on his Tottenham Hotspur contract meaning that the club would have to decide whether to sell him in the summer (when he has one year left) or risk losing him for free when his current deal runs out next summer.

When asked about the contract update on Christian Eriksen, Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino said that the situation is still the same as months ago and that he does not have an update on his contract situation.

The Argentine tactician was speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the all-important Premier League clash at home to Leicester City on Sunday.

Tottenham Hotspur must beat the Foxes at home to keep up their title hopes.

A win will take them back to within five points of league leaders Liverpool.
