Fulham manager Claudio Ranieri has explained his role in the transfer that saw Anthony Martial join the Red Devils in a multi-million pounds deal.
Ranieri made this known during his pre-match press conference on Thursday ahead of the all-important Premier League clash between his Fulham side and in-form Manchester United.
The Cottagers host the three-time European champions in the first game of Matchweek 26 at the Craven Cottage on Saturday lunchtime with the hope of cutting the gap to those outside the relegation zone.
Fulham are the second bottom on the Premier League table with just 17 points from 25 games.
The Cottagers are seven points from safety with 13 games left to play.
2015/16 Premier League title-winning manager with Leicester City Ranieri also talked about how he signed Martial from fellow French club Lyon for just €5m in 2013 while he was in charge of Principality club AS Monaco.
He went on to say that he encouraged Manchester United to sign Anthony Martial and that he would be a good player for the Red Devils.
Martial, 23, signed for Manchester United in the summer of 2015 after the Red Devils agreed on an initial fee of £36m for him as well as add-ons that could take the whole transfer to the £60m.
