Respected journalist David Ornstein has revealed how Arsenal manager Unai Emery wants to get the huge wages of midfielder Mesut Ozil off the books at the club.
David Ornstein works for popular English media outlet BBC Sport.
According to him, Spanish tactician Unai Emery wants to free up some funds by plotting the exit of Arsenal star Mesut Ozil.
The 2014 FIFA World Cup winner is the highest paid earner at Arsenal with weekly wages of around £350,000 but he has failed to adapt to the new style under Unai Emery since the Spaniard replaced legendary manager Arsene Wenger at the club at the start of the season.
David Ornstein said that Unai Emery is determined to drop Mesut Ozil from his squad until he’s frustrated to ask for a transfer in the summer.
Unai Emery had dropped Ozil from the Arsenal XI for the majority of the big games since the start of the season.
The 30-year-old was left out of the team again last weekend as Arsenal suffered a 3-1 loss at the hands of Premier League leaders Manchester City.
Mesut Ozil will still have two years left on his Arsenal contract in the summer having signed a three-year deal in February 2018.
