Premier League legend Danny Murphy has called on Manchester United to put their faith in forward Marcus Rashford rather than sign a new striker in the summer.
Ex-Liverpool midfielder Murphy spoke about Marcus Rashford and the transfer dealings at Old Trafford while he was doing his punditry job on popular English media outlet TalkSport.
Danny Murphy believes that Three Lions of England striker Marcus Rashford can be the man to lead the Manchester United attack for the foreseeable future.
He further revealed that Rashford can attain the goalscoring consistency of Premier League stars like Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Sergio Aguero (Manchester City) and Mohamed Salah (Liverpool).
Danny Murphy said that the Red Devils should place their hope on Marcus Rashford as the player to get them 25 goals a season.
Recent reports revealed that interim Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could be given a transfer warchest of £200m if he’s given the Red Devils managerial job permanently.
Earlier in the season, it was revealed that Manchester United were targeting the signing of a new striker following the struggles of Romelu Lukaku in front of goal last year.
Rashford has since displaced Lukaku as the Red Devils’ star striker since Solskjaer became the manager.
He has scored nine goals in the Premier League this season including six strikes during the short Solskjaer era.
