La Liga champions Barcelona won’t mind selling midfielder Philippe Coutinho to Premier League giants Manchester United at the expense of French Ligue 1 club Paris Saint Germain (PSG).
According to the Daily Mirror, Barcelona would prefer to sell the player to Manchester United rather than sanction a transfer to PSG despite the fact that the French Ligue 1 giants have more financial clout than the Red Devils.
Barcelona and PSG have a frosty relationship and that could work in the Red Devils’ favor.
PSG were recently angered by the conduct of Barcelona in their pursuit of highly rated Ajax Amsterdam midfielder Frenkie De Jong.
Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona won the race to sign the talented Dutch international star in a deal that could rise to €75m depending on add-ons.
Frenkie De Jong will join his new teammates at Barcelona, including Coutinho, at the end of the season.
Apart from Manchester United and PSG, London club Chelsea have also been touted as a potential transfer destination for Philippe Coutinho who has endured a disappointing first year at Barcelona.
The Brazilian international playmaker became the third most expensive player in world football behind Kylian Mbappe and Neymar following his £142m transfer from Liverpool in January 2018.
