Chris Mepham has spoken on what would have become of him after his release as a Chelsea player.
He stated that he was already considering gardening on his Uncle’s farm before recovering from the rock bottom to seal a move away from the West London side, all thanks to a scout who encouraged him along the way.
Chris Mepham only joined English Premier League side Bournemouth on Tuesday revealed that he would have quitted the round leather game after he was released by the Blues as a schoolboy.
According to him, he rejected a number of trials with Watford and QPR over his displeasure at being released from the West London outfit.
He explained that his decision was nothing farfetched from being told that he was not good enough by a number of football sides and that discouraged him a lot to want a walk-away.
The 21-year-old Chris Mepham, therefore, expressed delight that things have now worked out for him and he is currently the professional footballer he had dreamt of.
Meanwhile, Chelsea were left with no choice than to part ways with Chris Mepham as it was evident that he could not break into the first team while his prospect was looking blink.
