Brescia owner Massimo Celino has confirmed that Premier League leaders Liverpool have made no inquiry for one of his players
In an interview with Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport, Cellino revealed that the Reds have asked about the transfer availability of young Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali.
Massimo Cellino was previously the owner of English Championship table toppers Leeds United.
Cellino initially talked about the interest of Italian capital club AS Roma in Tonali before adding that Merseyside giants Liverpool had contacted him earlier over the same player.
Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali has been earning rave reviews from far and near as a result of his impressive performances in the colours of his Italian Serie B outfit.
The 18-year-old has emerged as one of the young prospects on the Italian football scene and it’s no surprise that clubs are drawn to his immense qualities.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has already revealed that the club won’t sign any players in this January transfer window but that could change if the controversial Massimo Cellino softens his stance on the possible exit of the player.
Cellino is determined to hang on to Sandro Tonali for as long as possible in the face of strong interest from AS Roma and Liverpool.
