Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has revealed that Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay could still leave the club in the current January transfer window.
The young midfielder has been strongly linked with a temporary move away from the club but Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is adamant that the player will stay at Old Trafford beyond this month.
Scottish Premiership champions Celtic are said to be interested in a loan deal that will see the 22-year-old spend the remainder of the season at the club.
Sheth spoke about Scott McTominay and Celtic while he was speaking on the Transfer Talk podcast via the Daily Express.
He further revealed that the Scottish international will struggle to get playing minutes as long as the preferred midfield trio of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera are free from injury.
Scott McTominay still has to contend with other midfielders like summer signing Fred, Andreas Pereira and Marouane Fellaini for a place in the starting XI if one or more of the aforementioned trio miss out.
Belgian international Fellaini is currently out injured with a calf problem and is not expected back in the team until the end of next month at least.
