Ex-Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has slammed the club following his tumultuous time when he was with the three-time European champions.

Mourinho aimed a transfer dig at the club while he was on popular media channel BeIN Sports for the Asian Cup on Saturday.

The Portuguese tactician said that he was not properly backed in the transfer market while he was the Manchester United manager.

Jose Mourinho further gave examples of managers, like Pep Guardiola at Manchester City and Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, who have been fully backed to sign players by their respective clubs.

Jose Mourinho also stated that he has already rejected three offers to return to the sidelines since he was dismissed as the Manchester United manager last month.

Earlier reports revealed that Mourinho turned down a job offer from Portuguese club Benfica.

Jose Mourinho had a frosty relationship with club chief executive Ed Woodward who failed to back him on transfers.

He eventually lost his job last month after a disastrous start to this campaign.

Mourinho was replaced by former club striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the Norwegian has justified that decision by making a perfect start to his career as a manager at the Theatre of Dreams.
