Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been suggested to have a change of mind in his stand on the winter transfer market by club legend John Aldridge.

The Reds are dipped into defensive crisis which could affect all of their efforts all through the season and that is why the Reds legend feels the German boss cannot afford to take the gamble but to add to his squad so as to be able to push through the second half of the season.

Former Southampton central defender Virgil Van Dijk is only central back available at the moment for the team with three other options injured but the German boss feels he can still manage the team without the players.

He made it clear that he is happy with the squad and will not necessarily go into the market for more additions.

However, the Reds legend stated that it would be a better situation for his former side if Joel Matip returns soon as Fabinho cannot continue to carry on despite pulling a superb performance at the defense.

He, therefore, stated that should the Reds survive this winter window with the return of Joel Matip, he expects the German boss to secure new defenders in the coming summer window.
