Manchester United are eyeing a transfer for Japanese winger Shoya Nakajima according to various media outlets in Portugal.

Nakajima has been a subject of transfer interest of fellow Premier League side Leicester City.

Shoya Nakajima is on the payroll of Portuguese top flight side Portimonense at the moment.

The interest of Manchester United was conveyed in a publication from Portuguese newspaper O Jogo.

Nakajima has been in sensational form for Portimonense since the start of the season.

He has found the back of the net on five occasions in addition to providing five assists in 14 appearances for his lowly Portuguese club.

His form has been attracting the attention of English sides like Leicester City and Manchester United.

He could be a transfer option for the Red Devils in this January transfer market as they try to improve their squad with new players ahead of the second half of the current season.

In his latest interview, interim Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said that he will meet with Ed Woodward to determine the plans on transfers for the current transfer window.

Solskjaer has helped the club rescue their season with four straight wins in the league and there are renewed hopes that the Red Devils can make the top four this season.
