A surprising result report emerged that Crystal Palace have dumped the move for Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke after being on the case for weeks.
This last minute development was confirmed by Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson who stated that the deal has collapsed and the player will not be joining his side anymore.
It would be recalled that Palace chairman Steve Parish made it clear that they were desperate to land the 21-year-old, boasting that they have beaten interest from the likes of Rangers and Fulham.
Speaking of the development, Hodgson stated that it was not his personal decision but it was the decision of the club because of the complication of the matter.
However, Roy Hodgson failed to give a detailed reason on why they dumped the deal for the Liverpool youngster as he made it clear that the club have resolved to make do of what is available.
The Reds were keen to let the player leave on loan to Crystal Palace having been convinced that he will continue his development at the club but they will now be left with no choice than to keep the striker or secure another loan move for him.
Dominic Solanke has been impressive for Liverpool and England national team in the youth ranks.
