Man United Retain Interest In £45m Serie A Defender Despite Mourinho’s Exit

Premier League giants Manchester United are still keen on a transfer for Italian Serie A defender Nikola Milenkovic despite the sacking of Jose Mourinho as the Manchester United manager.

Portuguese tactician Mourinho was shown the way out of Manchester United after he masterminded the Red Devils’ worst start to a Premier League season.

The former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss was swiftly replaced by ex-Red Devils striker Ole Gunnar Solakjaer who has been appointed as the Manchester United manager until the end of the season.

Jose Mourinho requested for a new centre back and Nikola Milenkovic was one of the numerous names linked with a transfer to Old Trafford.

The Serbian centre back is on the payroll of Italian Serie A side Fiorentina at the moment.

According to ESPN, Manchester United still retain an interest in the 21-year-old despite the exit of Mourinho.

It was revealed that his agent is trying to get a deal done for the player rated at around £45m (€50m).

Apart from Nikola Milenkovic, Manchester United have been linked with other centre backs like Leicester City star Harry Maguire, Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld, Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, Atletico Madrid skipper Diego Godin and Inter Milan centre back
