Premier League giants Manchester United are the favourites to sign highly-rated Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly when the transfer window reopens next week.
This is according to the bookmakers Ladbrokes via Caughtoffside.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes confirmed this as he said that the Red Devils are at 2/1 odds of signing him.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with Senegalese international centre back Koulibaly for the better part of the last month.
Earlier reports had claimed that the Red Devils had two bids turned out for the 27-year-old who recently represented Senegal at this summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.
Koulibaly and Senegal were unable to progress beyond the group stage at the tournament due to their inferior disciplinary record to Japan in Group H.
Kalidou Koulibaly is widely regarded by many as one of the best defenders on the world football stage.
It could take at least a record bid of £90m to secure his transfer from Italian Serie A giants Napoli if club president Aurelio De Laurentiis decides to part company with him.
The £90m transfer fee would eclipse the £75m transfer that took Virgil Van Dijk from Southampton to Liverpool in January.
Kalidou Koulibaly has been an integral member of the Napoli squad since he signed for the club from Belgian top flight side Genk in 2014.
