Arsenal are plotting a big money move for AS Roma winger Cengiz Under in a bid to beat North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and German champions Bayern Munich to his signature.
Footballtransfertavern claim that the Gunners are favourites to sign Under when the transfer window reopens next month ahead of Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich.
It was revealed that it would take a bid of around £45m to prise him away from the Italians, though the Turkish international star is rated at around £31.5m according to Transfer market.
Cengiz Under has been in impressive form for the Italian capital club since he joined AS Roma from Turkish Super Lig outfit Istanbul Basaksehir last summer.
The 21-year-old played his part in AS Roma’s run to the semifinal of last season’s Champions League.
The Italian Serie A giants stunned Spanish champions Barcelona in the quarterfinals before they were eliminated by Premier League table toppers Liverpool in the semis.
Cengiz Under is one of the hottest properties in European football and he will boost the Gunners’ depleted attacking options.
He would be a direct replacement for the injured Welbeck.
Former Manchester United star Danny Welbeck has been ruled out for the rest of this season with a broken ankle.
