Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has dismissed transfer rumours surrounding defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
The Italian football administrator confirmed that the Senegalese international centre back won’t leave the Italian Serie A giants when the January transfer window reopens in eleven days time.
The Napoli president debunked the January exit rumours for the 27-year-old in a chat with Italian media outlet Corriere del Mezzogiorno via the Daily Star.
Premier League giants Manchester United have been hugely linked with a move for Kalidou Koulibaly with recent reports claiming that Italian giants Napoli have already turned down two big bids from the Red Devils for him.
Koulibaly has grown to become one of the best centre backs on the world’s football stage since he joined Napoli from Belgian side Genk in 2014.
He has made 174 appearances for the Italians since he became a Napoli player.
Manchester United have made him their top transfer target ahead of the upcoming transfer window scheduled to start as from the 1st of January.
This is in the quest to boost an ailing Red Devils defence.
Manchester United have struggled defensively this season after conceding a whopping 29 goals in just 17 league games as well as just two clean sheets all season.
