English Premier League side Chelsea are reported to be locked up in talks with Mats Hummel’s agent over a possible move ahead of the January winter transfer window.

Reports according to Metro, the 30-year-old is on the verge of leaving the German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich as early as possible in coming weeks.

The report also claims that Mats Hummel has got a sour relationship with Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovac who will also not mind in letting the German international have his way.

Mats Hummel has got two more years to see out his contract with the Bundesliga giants but that may not happen as he is keen to leave anytime soon.

Chelsea are believed to be in need of high class and experienced defenders which Mats Hummel fits in appropriately.

However, in a different twist, Munich Chairman Karl-Heinz stated that Mats Hummel will remain at the club as he is happy to play for the Bundesliga giants.

According to him, the club has already held talks with the star player and everything went positive as expected.

This, therefore, means that the German outfit are not willing to let go of the experienced defender as they will need him to execute the Champions League as well.
