Arsenal manager Unai Emery has refused to guarantee the acquisition of new players to improve his squad when the mid-season transfer window reopens in few weeks time.

The Spanish tactician has failed to promise new players for the Gunners in January despite the crippling injury problems in the Arsenal squad at the moment.

Unai Emery talked about transfers during his post-match press conference on Sunday evening following the end of the Gunners’ 22-match unbeaten run in all competitions.

His thoughts on potential January transfers was monitored by Arseblog.

The Arsenal boss revealed that he’s not a big fan of the January transfer window before adding that the club will try to sign players that can improve the current options that he has at his disposal.

Arsenal surrendered their 22-match unbeaten run on Sunday evening following the surprising 3-2 loss to struggling Southampton at the St. Mary’s Stadium.

The Gunners last suffered a defeat in any competition in August when they were beaten 3-2 by rivals Chelsea.

Unai Emery was without four key defenders for the game against the Saints.

Skrodan Mustafi and Sokratis Papasthathopoulos were suspended for the game though the former is currently nursing a hamstring injury.

Sead Kolasinac and Rob Holding missed out against the Saints while right-back Hector Bellerin got injured in the first half of the game.
