Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that he is not sure if the club will sign new players during the upcoming transfer window scheduled for next month.

The Portuguese tactician delivered an update on possible January transfers during his pre-match thoughts ahead of the Red Devils league clash with rivals Liverpool on Sunday evening.

Mourinho would be hoping to close the gap on the top five teams with a win over the Reds at Anfield.

Manchester United are eight points adrift of Chelsea in fourth place and 18 points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City.

A win for Liverpool would put the Reds 19 points ahead of Manchester United at the top of the table.

Jose Mourinho is desperately in need of reinforcements in January to rescue his team following the disappointing start to this season, especially in the Premier League.

Several players have been linked with the Red Devils with reports claiming that a new centre back is high on the transfer list of Manchester United and Mourinho.

The latest interest is Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly according to various reports coming out of the British media.

It was revealed that the Red Devils made two bids for the 27-year-old and that they were swiftly rejected by Napoli.
