Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell has revealed that Uruguayan international midfielder Lucas Torreira is the best signing made by any Premier League team in the summer.
Kevin Campbell talked about the new Arsenal fans’ favourite while he was a guest on Sky Sports as monitored by the Daily Star.
North London giants Arsenal signed Lucas Torreira from Italian Serie A side Sampdoria.
The petite midfielder joined the club after both clubs had agreed a fee of around £26.5m for his services with widespread reports claiming that the transfer fee would be paid in three instalments by the Gunners.
The 22-year-old was the fourth of five summer signings made by the Arsenal boss, Unai Emery.
The Spanish manager eased Lucas Torreira into the Arsenal starting XI at the start of the season after his World Cup exertions.
He was part of the Uruguay side that failed to go beyond the quarterfinals of this summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.
Uruguay were beaten 2-0 by eventual champions France in their last eight clash.
Torreira started the first five games in the Premier League on the bench.
He came on as a substitute in all of the five games before starting the sixth game against Everton.
The Uruguayan has impressed for the Gunners and also started every league game since the Everton match.
He has scored two goals in the last three league matches.
