Merseyside club Liverpool are bent on having more additions in their squad as they hope for a title win this term but their chances of having Birmingham’s Romello Mitchell is being contested.

Romello Mitchell is a highly rated player and has caught the attention of a number of clubs but Liverpool face a major challenge from Premier League rivals Manchester United for the player.

Despite being as young as 15, Romello Mitchell has been able to pull impressive performances for his side to get the attention he is currently having.

Liverpool are also being encouraged by the history of the Championship side as producing talents for a long period of time, hence they see Romello Mitchell as an opportunity to benefit from the side.

It is reported that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is now ready to keep faith with youngsters having watched Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez deliver good performances beyond expectation.

However, Jurgen Klopp will mount pressure on his management to ensure a deal for Romello Mitchell knowing that he will not involve enough financial commitment as only compensation would be paid to his owners.

The German manager is not ready to leave anything to chance as he is keen on winning his first trophy as Liverpool boss in three years.

romelu lukaku

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku reportedly favours a move to Italian Serie A Champions Juventus if he’s to leave the club when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

According to the publication from popular English news portal Daily Mirror, Romelu Lukaku understands that Manchester United want to sell him this summer but the Belgian international attacker is holding out for a move to Italy with former European champions Juventus.

Lukaku, 25, became the most expensive player in the history of Manchester United apart from his buddy Paul Pogba when he joined the club from fellow Premier League side Everton at the start of last season.

Manchester United signed the ex-Chelsea striker in a £75m deal in the summer of 2017.

He finished his debut season as the Red Devils’ topscorer as Manchester United finished the Premier League campaign in second spot but he has struggled to replicate that form this term.

Romelu Lukaku went through a 13-game drought earlier in the season before he was dropped for Marcus Rashford for some games by Jose Mourinho when he was still in charge.

He has continued to play second fiddle to England international Rashford since interim Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replaced Mourinho at the end of last year.

Manchester United have not had the best of seasons defensively after conceding 35 goals in 26 Premier League games.

The three-time European champions have one of the worst defensive records in the top half of the Premier League with just six clean sheets to show for their troubles.

Kalidou Koulibaly has spoken about the transfer rumours linking him with a move away from the club in the summer.

De Ligt

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has identified Ajax Amsterdam defender Matthijs De Ligt as his top defensive priority ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

This is according to The Sun which claimed that the Gunners can only sign the highly rated Dutch international centre back if they qualify for the Champions League.

Arsenal are one point off the Champions League places with rivals Manchester United occupying the fourth and last qualifying position.

Unai Emery has just £40m to spend in this summer excluding player sales if he fails to guide Arsenal back into the Champions League.

The said amount could increase to as much as £100m if Arsenal qualify for the Champions League ahead of both Manchester United and Chelsea who are their direct challengers.

Matthijs De Ligt could command a £75m transfer fee with several clubs interested in the player who made history by becoming the first defender to win the Golden Boy Award.

The 19-year-old is the reigning Golden Boy Award after he was named the winner towards the end of last year.

Manchester City, Paris Saint Germain (PSG), Liverpool and Barcelona are all interested in him.

Matteo Guendouzi

French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) are reportedly eyeing a big money summer transfer for Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi.

The Daily Mirror say that the French champions are monitoring the player’s development at Arsenal.

Matteo Guendouzi was on the books of the French capital club before he was released at the age of 15.

The young French midfielder made his first team debut at French second-tier club Lorient before moving to Arsenal at the start of the season.

The Gunners paid just £7m on Matteo Guendouzi to secure his transfer from the French Ligue 2 club last summer.

Guendouzi, 19, made his Arsenal debut in the first league game of this season.

He was in the starting XI as Arsenal manager Unai Emery began his managerial era at the Emirates Stadium with a 2-0 loss to Premier League champions at home.

Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva got the goals for the Citizens either side of the halftime interval.

Aside from fellow midfielder Lucas Torreira, no Arsenal player has featured in more games than Matteo Guendouzi.

He has seen his stock rise as a result of his superb form for the Gunners this season.

thorgan hazard

It is understood that the West London outfit Chelsea will be moving all out in the coming summer transfer window for more additions to the team.

The popular opinion at the beginning of the season was that the Blues’ side have a complete team but the narrative changed as soon as the Maurizio Sarri-led team started suffering some defeat and inconsistency in their game.

This makes it necessary for the Blues side to strengthen the team in the coming summer window especially now that they might be losing Belgium international Eden Hazard at the end of the season with suggestions that he would be heading to the Spanish La Liga outfit Real Madrid.

News outlet Tavern has suggested that the Blues look the direction of German Bundesliga outfit Monchengladbach midfielder Thorgan Hazard as they prepare for the summer window.

According to Tavern, Thorgan Hazard has developed to one of the finest attacking midfielders in Europe and could be perfect to replace his brother at the Stamford Bridge.

Thorgan Hazard is expected to cost Chelsea a lot but it is suggested to be a big deal that will be appreciated over the years because of his brilliant technique, his finishing and ability to change the game.

Emerson Palmieri

Chelsea Left full-back Emerson Palmieri has ruled out leaving the West London in the coming summer window, insisting that he will stay to fight for a starting role at the club.

Emerson Palmieri is believed to have received a number of offers from suitors who are ready to hand him the opportunity of a first team role, but he seems not to be interested in a move.

The star player has not been favoured in the manager Maurizio Sarri team as finding a first team role has been difficult which sparked up the suggestions that he would be leaving the club as soon as the transfer window is reopened.

There are suggestions that Emerson Palmieri is banking on the fact that Marcos Alonso is being linked with a move to Spanish La Liga outfit Real Madrid so he could finally get his chance to play regularly at the Champions League.

Emerson Palmieri only joined the West London outfit last summer from AS Roma and he is already being linked with a return to  Serie A with claims that he is wanted by Juventus and Inter Milan.

However, it is to clear if Emerson Palmieri is in the plans of the former Napoli boss but there are no signs the club wants him out.

Philippe Coutinho

English Premier League outfit are already reported to be in search of quality players ahead of the coming summer window with Hakim Ziyech already mentioned, according to Calciomercato as a major target.

The Reds failed to engage in the last winter transfer window and they seem to be haunted by it as they are now battling with injuries in the team without enough trusted replacements for them.

More so, since the Merseyside outfit parted ways with Brazilian international Philippe Coutinho after he joined Spanish La Liga outfit Barcelona, they have struggled to find a replacement for him but they are yet to search for one.

However, Hakim Ziyech has been tipped to be the answer to Coutinho’s replacement with the Moroccan international already making big impact and attracting interest from a number of big sides.

His quality was not hidden when his Ajax side played Real Madrid in the Champions League last week in addition to his 15 goals already scored and 12 assists to his name so far this season.

More to Coutinho, Hakim Ziyech has got the pace, the skill, dribbles and ability to hand the final pass in the 18 area which can also be converted by him. The Reds have therefore been advised to do all it takes to land the star player.

Another strange claim made about Anfield Stadium

A lot has been said in the past about the Anfield Stadium, the home ground of the English Premier League giants because of the crowd and the passion by the fans for their team. This time around Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has given his own reaction on the Merseyside stadium.

Ahead of their Champions League clash against Liverpool, Arjen Robben stated that the Anfield is the worst place to be when he noted that he has a favourite opponent and also a negative one.

There is no doubt that Arjen Robben is speaking from the experiences he has had in the past with the stadium which propelled him to make such claim as he fears the same could happen again.

It would be recalled that Arjen Robben had two of his Champions League hopes dashed at the Anfield when he was with Chelsea in 2005 and also in 2017. The Holland international had his penalty saved in the latter by Pepe Reina which stopped them from reaching the finals.

However, Arjen Robben thinks the Reds team is much better under manager Jurgen Klopp which speaks volumes of what they should expect in coming days despite having him doubt for the game.

Kai Havertz

Arsenal are planning a summer swoop for one of the young prospects in the top flight of German football according to widespread media reports.

Italian media platform Calciomercato say that the Gunners are eyeing a move for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz who has been in superb form for his team since the start of this season.

Havertz, 19, has scored 11 goals for Bayer Leverkusen this season.

Arsenal could sign the £40m-rated as a possible midfield replacement for the controversial Mesut Ozil.

2014 World Cup winner Ozil has had an awkward relationship with Arsenal manager Unai Emery since the Spanish tactician became the Gunners boss last summer.

He put pen to paper on a three-year deal at the start of the season as a direct replacement for Arsene Wenger who ended his 22-year stay in North London last summer.

Unai Emery has dropped Mesut Ozil completely from the Arsenal squad on many occasions this season including the last game which was a disappointing 1-0 loss at the hands of Belarusian side BATE Borisov.

Arsenal have a lot of work to do if they must overcome the BATE Borisov deficit when both sides meet for the second leg of their Europa League round of 32 ties at the Emirates Stadium this Thursday.

Why Liverpool is the best destination for young players

jurgen klopp

English Premier League outfit Liverpool have been tipped to be the best destination for young players following the feat by manager Jurgen Klopp since his arrival at the club about three years ago.

From analysis, young players like Ben Woodburn, Danny Ward, Sheyi Ojo and Ovie Ejaria were all handed their various debuts at the Anfield by manager Jurgen Klopp and there is no doubt about how well they are currently performing wherever they are.

An argument can also be raised for Joe Gomez as one of the players who flourished under the German boss because he had been at the club before the arrival of Jurgen Klopp but never made any impact until he worked under him.

At the moment, Joe Gomez alongside Virgil Van Dijk have produced the best defence this season under the German boss and the same story can be said of Dominic Solanke who could not succeed at the West London outfit Chelsea until he joined the Merseyside club in the summer.

Dominic Solanke immediately became a bigger figure in England and no wonder Bournemouth had to pay as heavy as £19 million for the U21 England national team striker.

However, this history with Klopp is not only known at Liverpool but he had established that already when he was in charge at Borussia Dortmund.
