Arsenal Handed Huge Blow In Chase For World Cup Hero

Ousmane Dembele

North London giants Arsenal have been handed a big blow in the bid to sign Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele when the winter transfer window reopens in the New Year.

According to the report from the Daily Mirror via TeamTalk, Premier League sides might miss out on the highly rated winger with Barcelona looking to include him in a deal that will bring Brazilian national team star Neymar back from Paris Saint Germain (PSG).

Neymar had earlier joined the French capital club in a club-record deal during last summer’s transfer window.

PSG activated his Barcelona release clause of £200m to make him the most expensive player in the history of world football.

Premier League sides like Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea have all been linked with a transfer for Ousmane Dembele.

The French international winger has endured a largely frustrating time at Barcelona since he joined the club from German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund last summer.

Barcelona paid an initial fee of €105m plus an additional fee of €35m in add-ons.

He was recently part of the France team that won a second World Cup title at the 2018 edition of the FIFA senior World Cup tournament in Russia via a 4-2 won over fellow Europeans Croatia.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has revealed three Arsenal players that will give his former club problems ahead of their Premier League meeting this weekend.

Liverpool will take on Arsenal at home in what’s one of the three games in the new Premier League season.

Arsenal and Liverpool are the last two standing as far as teams with a 100% record are concerned.

According to him, the Liverpool defence will struggle to contain the Arsenal front of three, consisting of Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicholas Pepe.

On their part, Arsenal began the season with the slim 1-0 away win over Newcastle United.
