Premier League giants Arsenal are reportedly targeting highly rated Olympique Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele as a potential replacement for wantaway midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

According to the publication from a trusted English media outlet Metro, the Gunners are monitoring the Frenchman with a view to a making a move for him in the New Year.

The 21-year-old could replace the aforementioned Ramsey in the Arsenal with the Welsh international star on his way out of the Emirates Stadium.

Aaron Ramsey has less than a year left on his current Arsenal deal but the club has decided not to give him a new contract.

As a matter of fact, Arsenal offered him new contract terms before deciding to withdraw the contract offer.

The former Cardiff City star has already been linked with several European clubs as a result of doubts over his future at Arsenal.

European heavyweights such as Bayern Munich, Juventus, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool have all been mentioned as possible transfer destinations for the 27-year-old.

Arsenal have identified the aforementioned Ndombele as his potential replacement but the Gunners might have to contend with other interested clubs.

It was also revealed that clubs like Liverpool, Everton and Paris Saint Germain (PSG) are also interested in the French international player rated at around £55m.
