Man United Handed Huge Blow In Brazilian Defender Pursuit

Premier League giants Manchester United have been dealt a huge blow in their bid to secure the signing of Alex Sandro from Italian Serie A giants Juventus when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.

According to the publication from Italian news outlet calciomercato via the Manchester Evening News (MEN), the Brazilian international defender is not interested in a move away from the club during the winter transfer window despite the rumoured interests of European heavyweights like Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The 27-year-old left-back was strongly linked with a move to three-time European champions Manchester United in the summer but nothing came out of it.

Alex Sandro has been in impressive form for the Old Lady in the new campaign.

The Brazilian international has made 18 appearances in all competitions for his Italian Serie A side.

The former FC Porto star was also in action for the Brazilian team during the international break.

He featured in the 1-0 victory over Cameroon on Tuesday.

Alex Sandro would have replaced England international left-back Luke Shaw at Manchester United.

Luke Shaw has recovered from his nightmarish start under manager Jose Mourinho to emerge as one of the best players in the Manchester United squad this season.
