Senegal international Sadio Mane has agreed a new deal with Liverpool that will keep him at the club until 2023.

The move by the Reds to hand Mane a new deal is to end all speculations linking the player away from the club following reports that he is being wanted by top European clubs.

Spanish and Italian giants Real Madrid and Juventus were reported to be monitoring the situation with Mane as they hope to hijack a deal should the Reds fail to do the needful.

Mane is the last to extend his stay at the Anfield knowing that his counterpart Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah had already extended their stay at the club.

It would be recalled that the Senegal international joined the Reds in 2016 from Southampton for a fee of about £30 million and he has since scored a total of 40 goals and 18 assists in 89 games for the club.

However, Sadio in his reaction to the new deal stated that he made the best decision to have accepted a new deal from the club which will have him remain for more years.

He, therefore, expressed delight at the development stressing that he hopes to continue progressing to help the club achieve its desired success.
