It has been revealed that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was advised to go in for Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell in 2016 but every move to sign him failed.
Ben Chilwell has now grown and matured in his game which has been rewarded with a national team call-up from the England team coach Gareth Southgate.
It was reported that upon his a year season loan at Huddersfield Town, he was recommended to Jurgen Klopp who was advised by Terriers boss David Wagner to sign Ben Chilwell.
With Alberto Moreno already running out of age, Ben Chilwell would have been a long-term cover and that would have saved the Reds the pressure they are now dipped into.
Although, a bid of £5 million plus a £2 million in add-ons was submitted by the Anfield side and it was turned down by the former owners
Eventually, Ben Chilwell got to find himself at Leicester City where his development did not stall as he is one of the best in that position in the Premier League.
Liverpool have been able to capture Andrew Robertson but that is not to argue that Ben Chilwell is not also needed at the club knowing that he has now matured in his game.
