Despite interests from a number of clubs, Liverpool have affirmed that goalkeeper Simon Mignolet will be staying at the club beyond the winter transfer window which opens in the coming weeks.

The Belgian keeper has been handed just one appearance so far this season which means he has sat on the bench for a number of games, a development he wishes to change with a move away from the club.

Simon Mignolet featured in a total of 22 games across all competitions last season but that cannot be said of him this season with the arrival of Alisson Becker from Italian outfit AS Roma in the summer.

As a result of his lack of enough playing time, a number of clubs are speculated to be preparing a bid to hand Simon Mignolet an escape route with French side Nice and Italian outfit Napoli strongly linked for his signature.

However, it is reported that the 30-year-old is becoming more frustrated at the Anfield and will not delay once an opportunity arises for a move away from the club.

But he might have to wait a little longer with the club reluctant to let him leave for now as until the end of the season.
