West Ham United forward Marko Arnautovic has revealed his desire to leave the East London club for a team playing in the Champions League.

The 29-year-old reiterated his desire to play Champions League football in his latest interview with Austrian newspaper Kurier.

The Austrian international star was heavily linked with a transfer to Manchester United but the Red Devils were priced out of a move for him.

He had earlier joined West Ham United from relegated Stoke City in the summer of 2017 after the London side agreed a then club-record £25m for his services.

This summer’s transfer involving Felipe Anderson from Lazio to West Ham United has since eclipsed his record move.

Manchester United identified Arnautovic as a backup to striker Romelu Lukaku in the summer but a transfer didn’t materialise as a result of the huge financial demands from the Hammers.

West Ham United slapped a £50m transfer fee on him and it eventually proved to be a step too far for the Red Devils.

Manchester United are suffering for the failure to sign a new striker due to the recent goal drought from the aforementioned Lukaku.

The Belgian international player has not found the back of the net since September.
