Russian journalist Yaroslav Susov has expressed regret over Chelsea’s failure to sign playmaker Aleksandr Golovin in this simmer.
He made the statement following the struggle by the Russian playmaker so far this season with French side AS Monaco. The journalist blames the Blues for being responsible for Golovin’s woes.
Golovin told L’Equipe that he regrets the condition of the player at Monaco knowing that the team have failed to impress this season despite having a new manager as they are currently sitting 18th on the French league table.
The journalist then stated that the player ought to have been at the Stamford Bridge with manager Maurizio Sarri being a big fan of the player in his days at Napoli.
It was reported that the Italian manager made efforts to sign the playmaker to Napoli but a deal did not fall through so he made another effort when he landed at Chelsea but nothing serious came out of it.
However, the journalist is of the opinion that the Chelsea boss would have made a more serious offer which would have ensured a different fate for the player.
Aleksandr Golovin has featured only once for the French League 1 giants and still struggles to impress new manager Thierry Henry.
