Bayer Leverkusen star Leon Bailey has stated that he is only a player of the German side because he had rejected a bid for Liverpool.
According to Bailey, the Reds came with an offer for him before he left Genk as one of the most promising forwards in Europe.
Bailey explained that the only reason why he snubbed Liverpool was because of the fear of playing for a big club at that time, adding that it was not the right step to take. He wanted to wait for the right time to make such decision.
The winger who is valued at £80 million revealed that the big Premier League clubs including Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea were on the list as suitors.
Leon Bailey said it was important for him to take steps at a time and to always observe the right timing for events which for now, the German side remains the best option for him.
Meanwhile, Bailey is still being wanted by some clubs in Europe as they wish to lure him away from the German side but the attacking midfielder still wants to remain at the club where he thinks his development can be rapid and good.
