Crystal Palace boss has shown interest in England international Danny Welbeck for a move in the January transfer window.

Welbeck has not been a regular at the North London club under Unai Emery as he has been picked behind Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and French international Alexandre Lacazette.

The former Manchester United striker has not started a single game in the Premier League this season for the Gunners which makes his relevance in the team defined.

However, former England national team coach Roy Hodgson is ready to hand him a lifeline for his career by having him at Crystal Place where he would be handed a starting role to help continue his development and also find his lost form.

It is reported that Hodgson is confident that a deal can fall through because of his personal relationship with Welbeck in their time together at the England national team.

It is the wish of the English player to remain at the Emirates Stadium. But the playing time and his love for the game might not allow him to remain as he might move on a permanent deal away from the club.

Meanwhile, Spanish manager Unai Emery has stated that selection for his team will be based on quality and performance of the player.
