Premier League champions Manchester City have already beaten Arsenal on the pitch this season and they are about to repeat the same feat off it following the news that they have already made an enquiry about the availability of a Gunners’ transfer target.

According to a specific report from trusted English news outlet The Times, the Premier League holders are strongly interested in signing Lille forward Nicolas Pepe.

The 23-year-old has repeatedly been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium with various media reports claiming that the North Londoners have assigned a budget of €50m (£44m) for his transfer.

The Ivorian international winger has been in impressive form for his French Ligue 1 side for the better part of the last two years.

Pepe scored 13 goals and provided five others in 36 league appearances for Lille in the last campaign.

He was a key performer for the former French champions last season And his goals were crucial as Lille escaped demotion from the French top flight.

The Ivorian has already scored eight goals and had seven assists in just 12 league games in the new French Ligue 1 season.

He’s also a crucial part of the Ivory Coast team and has scored three goals in nine appearances for his country.
