Four players have been promoted from the Arsenal Academy and into the Gunners’ first team ahead of the Carabao Cup fourth-round clash against English Championship side Blackpool.
The North Londoners host the Tangerines at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night to determine who goes into the draw for the last eight.
According to the Daily Mirror via readarsenal, the four players trained with the Arsenal first team in preparation for the game with the English League One side.
The four players are Emile Smith-Rowe, Julio Pleguezuelo, Eddie Nketiah and Joe Willock.
Young English midfielder Smith-Rowe burst onto the Arsenal scene during pre-season and has been around the first team since then.
The 18-year-old has made three appearances for the Gunners since manager Unai Emery took over in the summer.
He scored his first goal for Arsenal in the Europa League clash with Qarabag FC of Azerbaijan.
Emile Smith-Rowe doubled Arsenal’s lead in that game after summer signing Sokratis Papasthathopoulos had given the team the lead.
Matteo Guendouzi scored towards the end of the game to wrap up a 3-0 victory for the North London side in their Europa League meeting with Qarabag.
The trio of Nketiah, Pleguezuelo and Joe Willock are yet to feature under Unai Emery.
