New Arsenal manager Unai Emery was at his evasive best when he was asked about the contract situation of star midfielder Aaron Ramsey.
The 47-year-old resorted to diplomacy when asked about Ramsey’s contract standoff with the club during his pre-match press conference ahead of the Premier League game against Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium on Monday night.
According to him, his focus is on now and that’s the league game at home to the Foxes next week.
Unai Emery has overseen his team’s impressive winning run of nine games in all competitions, including six straight league victories.
The former Valencia and Sevilla boss would be hoping that the media attention surrounding Aaron Ramsey’s contract situation does not affect his team in the bid to make it seven consecutive Premier League wins and ten victories in all competitions against the Foxes.
Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey is said to be on his way out of the club after the Arsenal hierarchy withdraw the contract offer that was earlier given to him.
The former Cardiff City star has since been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium with clubs like Juventus, AC Milan and the top four rival duo of Liverpool and Manchester United.
