Manchester United legend Paul Scholes believes that Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi will struggle a great deal in the present Manchester United team under manager Jose Mourinho.

Scholes, 43, talked about Manchester United and the club’s struggles under Mourinho in a chat with the ESPN as reported by thesportreview.

The Manchester United Academy graduate further revealed that any player, including Barcelona superstar Messi will struggle to perform in the current system under manager Jose Mourinho.

Lionel Messi is widely regarded by many as the best player in the history of world football.

The 31-year-old has won five ballon d’Or titles and he holds the joint record for the highest no. of titles along with fierce rival Cristiano Ronaldo.

Manchester United and manager Jose Mourinho have been under the spotlight for the majority of the season due to poor results and style of play.

Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez was one of the top three players in the Premier League before his move from rivals Arsenal in January and since he became a Manchester United player, he has struggled badly in the Red Devils’ system.

Same can also be said of other players like Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and many more that have been swallowed up by the ponderous style of player under the Portuguese tactician.
