Liverpool player Xherdan Shaqiri has explained why he has not been a favourite of manager Jurgen Klopp.

Shaqiri has yet to make any impact since joining the club and he has admitted his first months has been difficult.

The Swiss international therefore stated that he does not expect any favour from the manager as he has yet to make any impact. He is sure he is not a favourite at the club.

He, however, stated that the process under manager Klopp has worked well for him and he believes he will soon get his chance as there are lots of games yet to be played.

Shaqiri acknowledges the work that has been done at the Anfield by the manager and other players, noting that it has been a gradual work in progress.

The Swiss man said he had anticipated there would be hard times at Liverpool knowing the level at which they play and the history of the club.

Liverpool have got most of its strikers underperforming this season with Mohamed Salah, Firmino and Saido Mane all failing to replicate last season’s goal scoring form.

Manager Klopp has held on to his patience on the players keeping faith that they will soon start firing again.
