Former Real Madrid defender Roberto Carlos has revealed that Premier League giants Manchester United will be very lucky to have Zinedine Zidane as their manager.
Retired Brazilian international left-back Roberto Carlos and French football legend Zidane were former teammates at Real Madrid.
They were in the same team that won the 2002 Champions League title via a 2-1 victory over German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund in their final clash in Glasgow.
Roberto Carlos and Zinedine Zidane combined with each other for the winning goal scored by the latter.
The Zidane strike is widely regarded as one of the best goals in the history of the competition.
Roberto Carlos spoke about Manchester United and Zidane in a chat with popular Spanish newspaper AS.
According to him, Zidane has the necessary qualities to replace underfire manager Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.
Portuguese tactician Mourinho has been heavily criticised since the start of the season following his side’s poor form in the new campaign.
The Red Devils’ indifferent form has led to calls for Zidane to replace Mourinho as the Manchester United manager.
Manchester United have lost three out of the first eight league games of the season and that has seen the Red Devils drop to the eighth spot.
