The Egyptian Football Association have released the latest development on the injury of Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah.

The Reds forward who helped his countryside secure a 4-1 win over eSwantini in the African Cup of Nations, AFCON qualification Group J match in Cairo on Friday could not finish the game due to injury.

Reports have it that the last season’s golden boot winner has returned to England to receive treatments from the club’s doctors.

Salah is reported to have sustained a strain on his muscle which needs to be given time to heal up.

However, the Egyptian FA have confirmed that Salah will not be available for the return leg which will be played at the Mavuso Sports Centre in Manzini.

Egypt who are second placed in the group will now struggle to qualify without the star player who has been of help in the past games.

The North African side are second place behind Tunisia which does not place them in a better position of qualification.

It is still unclear when Mohamed Salah will be returning but there are suggestions that he could be out for some weeks and will be missing a number of games for his Merseyside club.
