Chelsea youngster Ross Barkley is seeking to replicate his club side form at the national side in order to secure his space in the team.

The 24-year-old has been in great form for the Stamford Bridge side and it has earned him a call by Gareth Southgate’s England team that faced Croatia on Friday.

Barkley was in the team that played a 0-0 draw against Croatia in the UEFA Nations League tournament.

The England international said playing for his country means a lot to him and he hopes it continues with his good form.

He made it clear that securing a place in the England national team will be made easy if he works harder at Chelsea but noted how important it is for him to keep his starting role in the Southgate’s team.

Barkley is one of the young prospects in the English team having broken into manager Maurizio Sarri’s team and has been tipped to be the future of the Stamford Bridge side.

He has expressed disappointment in the fact that the game against Croatia ended in stalemate, hoping that they will return to winning ways in their next game.

Chelsea will return from the international break with a game against Manchester United.
