Liverpool are sitting 3rd in the Premier League table after 8 games of the season.

The Anfield side are being denied the first position because of the goal difference with league leaders, Manchester City and second place Chelsea as they all have same 20 points.

The Reds are known to be a free-scoring side and that has not changed not forgetting the 135 goals that were scored in the previous season in all competitions with Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Saido Mane all scoring a total of 91 goals between them.

It might be a thing to worry about that all the three players have not been in their best this season with last campaign’s highest scorer, Salah yet to live up to expectations.

It is worthy to note that with six points between City and the Reds, the scores will be settled in just come weeks coming.

The fact that 18 of the goals scored by City are against teams in the bottom half with Liverpool only playing three of those sides means the gap can be closed .

Liverpool in the month of October will face Huddersfield and Cardiff and that could just be more than enough to close the gap.

The next couple of games in the league will resolve the goal difference issue.
